I put together Booties for Babies a while ago, but with the holidays approaching, it’s crochet slipper season for everyone! I’ve collected the cutest, most comfortable, and warmest slippers for men, women, teenagers, and kids – and each of these twenty crochet patterns is free!

These slippers can be easily made to accommodate a bigger shoe size by working additional rows of the heel section.

Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton – 1 skein (186 yards) Color: Mint
Size B [2.25 mm] crochet hook or size needed to fit through flip flop holes
Size G [4.0 mm] crochet hook
1-2 printed copies of the “ruler” at end of the printable pattern or a measuring tape
1 pair of flip flops (One size smaller than you wear normally. See pattern notes.)
Sharp tool to poke holes (I use this clay tool. You can also try a skewer, thin drill bit or awl.)
Strong glue such as E6000 to glue strap plugs to sole (optional)

Worsted weight yarn: I used 2.5 oz of Red Heart Super Saver, color: Reef. For contrast, I used a small amount of turquoise I had in my stash for the contrast.

The toe cap is designed for these simple slippers and allows you to try them on while choosing the perfect fit! I love that they are all made with double crochet stitches so they work really quickly and are easy enough for beginners.

Crochet Sandals Free Pattern
Worsted weight/ Aran yarn ( size 4 medium) cotton yarn. Lily Sugar n’ Cream yarn in colors Ecru, Mod Blue, and Tangerine were used for the samples.
Hooks F( 3.75 mm).
Yarn needle to weave in the tails and attach the top part.
½ inch thick Quilter’s batting to sandwich between the soles
Plastic canvas to add stiffness to the sole. This is optional but it will make your slippers more comfortable to walk in.

Suggested Yarn: I love this Cotton – in Black & White. If you want to change up the checkers, choose the colors you prefer
Suggested Yarn Details: 100% Cotton, 3.5oz / 180 yds per skein
Yardage Needed: 2 skeins of white & 1 skein of black or any colors of your choice.
Hook Size: 4 mm (G) hook – I used a regular G hook, but you can use a Tunisian hook if you prefer. I recommend using an aluminum or steel Tunisian style hook or a hook by Clover (they are very smooth).
